Training coins are designed for advanced scent discrimination. By using one real coin among several replica coins, the dog learns to search for the unique scent of real metal, not just recognise the shape of a coin.
If you train with real coins only, the dog often learns to recognise shape and size instead of scent. That turns into a visual search instead of real nosework.
How to use the set
Place one real coin among five to ten replica coins. They all look identical, but only one carries the metallic scent. The dog has to use its nose to find the right one.
